We are pleased to announce that Honolulu’s annual Unconferenz will be held on March 5th, 2016 at The Blaisdell Center from 8am – 10pm.
In it’s 9th year, The Unconferenz is Hawaii’s longest-running grassroots technology gathering. Utilizing an open-grid format, the conference is attendee driven and designed to foster sharing and interaction amongst its participants on topics ranging from technology and science to entrepreneurship and innovation. This year, Unconferenz will be a truly international event by joining nearly 100 hackathons worldwide that will be participating in CodeAcross and International Open Data Day.
Unconferenz is partnering with Code For Hawaii to be the Hawaii CodeAcross event location. CodeAcross is a civic hacking event hosted by nodes of the Code for America network around the world. The goal is to inspire residents everywhere to get actively involved in their community.
International Open Data Day Hackathon is a gathering of citizens in cities around the world to write applications, liberate data, create visualizations and publish analyses using open public data to show support for and encourage the adoption of open data policies by the world’s local, regional and national governments.
We are glad that you are taking the time to consider making financial and in-kind sponsorships for Unconferenz. This is a community event but funding will come from the sponsors.
Funds for The Unconferenz will go hosting the event and future Code For Hawaii events. Sponsorship funds will cover expenses including: facilities rental, equipment rental, food, drinks, supplies, t-shirts and prizes.
